Is the 2023 Ford Kuga Plug-in Hybrid Worth Your Money?

When the fuel ban deadline was set, Ford pledged to make their full fleet either hybrid or fully electric. Even at the expense of the beloved Ford Fiesta, they've stuck to that promise. Now, it's time to try the new Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid SUV to see if it offers the same great quality. I'm testing the Kuga PHEV Black Package Edition with a few added extras, including White Platinum paint. Starting from £39,855 on the road, is it worth your money? Let's see what you get for that. New Honda ZR-V: The Hero or Zero Family SUV?

Here comes another c-SUV: the new Honda ZR-V. Promising to shake things up in the crowded world of compact SUVs, Honda claims this latest creation is not just another run-of-the-mill car; it's supposed to be a game-changer. But with two SUVs already in the range, is there any need to add another? It’s got a big reputation to live up to, and with so many family SUVs out there, the ZR-V needs to be more than just good looks and fancy features. With prices starting from £38,400, it better be good. 2023 Honda ZR-V First Impressions .blockspare-b6ae7fad-1f87-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap span:before{color:#000}.blockspare-b6ae7fad-1f87-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap ul li button{color:#000}.blockspare-b6ae7fad-1f87-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap .slick-slider .slick-dots > li button{background-colo...

The Dacia Duster Is Simply Brilliant (and Affordable)

I won't sugar coat it, new cars are expensive. Between unjustified insurance premiums and daylight robbery at the fuel pumps, driving is becoming unaffordable. Not to mention the growing demand for SUVs, which bumps up prices further. Thankfully, the Dacia Duster is a beacon of hope as a reliable SUV from £17,285.  Well, a no-thrills version would be less than £18k, but higher trims are still affordable. I'm testing the Duster Journey with optional metallic Arizona Orange paint, which comes in at £20,445. Is it too good to be true? I don't think so. 2023 Dacia Duster Journey First Impressions .blockspare-86a27f29-2de3-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap span:before{color:#000}.blockspare-86a27f29-2de3-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap ul li button{color:#000}.blockspare-86a27f29-2de3-4 .blockspare...

2024 Suzuki Swace Hybrid: The Forgotten One

With so many cars around today, it's no wonder every manufacturer strives to be better than the rest. Battling it out to have the coolest design or most advanced tech, they forget the basics. Meanwhile, the Suzuki Swace is simply brilliant. Unlike other cars, all it wants to do is save you money on fuel, make your drives effortless, and be reliable—all without making a big fuss about it. Unfortunately, it makes so little fuss that everyone forgets it exists. To bring it out of hiding, I drove the Swace Ultra every day for a week, and now I'm revealing the good and the bad parts. Let's start with what's new for 2024. My First Thoughts About The 2024 Suzuki Swace .blockspare-68220c19-aacb-4 .blockspare-slider-wrap span:before{color:#000}.blockspare-68220c19-aacb-4 .blockspare-s...

Is the new 2024 MG HS as good as it looks?

The MG HS was launched in 2019 as the British manufacturer's flagship SUV, exhibiting the very best of MG motors. It lived up to its status, becoming the UK's best-selling car in January 2023. For this year, the HS has more attitude with dynamic styling and power to match. It's one of the best value-for-money SUVs, boasting modern technology at an affordable price, but there's still a lot of room for improvement. This review was written after living with the new MG HS Trophy for seven days, and will cover everything you need to know about the family SUV, plus highlight some obvious flaws to watch out for.  Continue reading

Is the new Skoda Enyaq coupe worth buying?

Electric SUVs flood the car market nowadays, but they look bland. Soft, bubble-shaped bodies complete with solid plastic front grilles; there’s no mistaking an EV on the road. However, the Skoda Enyaq Coupe brings a refreshing design that demands attention. Following in the footsteps of the Skoda Enyaq iV, the coupe brings a sporty appearance to a family SUV. Available in 3 trims depending on your needs, it has a battery range comparable to Tesla, and promises excellent value for money. But you will need to plan charging very well.  Continue reading
