The next chapter of OMODA’s global expansion has arrived. At the 2025 Chery International User Summit in Wuhu, China, the carmaker officially pulled the wraps off its new OMODA 4 — a striking compact crossover that represents the evolution of the brand’s identity through its new “Cyber Mecha” design language. Even in the uncomfortably humid 27 degrees heat of Wuhu, the compact crossover looks fresh and cool.
What does Cyber Mecha Mean?
OMODA describes the OMODA 4 as the first full expression of its new “Design Mecha” philosophy; a blend of angular lines, metallic textures, and robotic precision inspired by sci-fi and gaming culture. It’s clearly aimed a younger audience; with an energetic exterior and tech-focused cabin that’s more to my taste than the safe Omoda 5.
OMODA 4 Key Design Highlights:
- Lightning bolt LED lights
- Diamond-inspired controls
- Fighter jet styled start/stop button cage
- Gaming-grade interior
The OMODA 4 promises city-friendly agility while maintaining a confident, futuristic silhouette. Dramatic “O-Universe” front and rear lights form a visual link across the compact car’s bold body, hinting at motion even when stationary. If that isn’t enough, a sportier OMODA 4 Ultra will be introduced later, with more power and a huge spoiler.

“OMODA 4’s contours not only reflect cutting-edge aesthetics but also resonate with the passionate mindset of the younger generation,” explains Richard Koo, OMODA Design Director.
We didn’t see the car switched on, but the infotainment screen looked a decent size. Inside looks more like a starship than a car, with glowing ambient lighting, immersive graphics, and cockpit-like ergonomics that put the driver at the centre of the action. Two wraparound displays powered by a 2.5K Snapdragon processor deliver crisp, fast graphics and smooth response times.
Geometric buttons and honeycomb-stitched seats bring a touch of luxury, while the playful red cage over the start stop button takes inspiration from gaming setups (and possibly the Lamborghini Urus). Design cues draw from sci-fi and e-sports culture, with.
You Decide What The OMODA 4 Will Become

One of OMODA’s most ambitious initiatives is the launch of its Co-Creation Ambassadors program — a platform that invites owners and fans to become directly involved in the car’s ongoing development. Ambassadors will test early versions, share feedback, and help refine the OMODA 4’s features before it hits showrooms.
“True innovation requires courage — and that courage comes from deep insights into users.”
This level of transparency and engagement reflects OMODA’s new global philosophy: Co-Create, Co-Define. It’s a clever move, turning real customers into collaborators and brand advocates long before launch.
Why I Think OMODA 4 Deserves Your Attention

OMODA is positioning itself as one of the few new brands genuinely listening to the next generation of drivers. Few brands are embracing genuine co-creation with fans. If OMODA can deliver the driving dynamics and tech quality its Cyber Mecha theme promises, the OMODA 4 could become one of the best crossovers of 2026, and a genuine alternative to the mainstream players.
Powertrains haven’t been confirmed by Omoda yet. However, I’d expect to see two versions; some mix or pure-petrol, hybrid, and electric. The one on display in China suggests a turbo engine, but who knows. Prices and official UK launch dates are also to be decided.
